KYC Management is where your team reviews and manages user verification submissions. Callisto supports two operating modes, chosen during configuration:
- Manual — your team approves and rejects submissions directly.
- SumSub — the automated provider issues verdicts; your team oversees and can override.
The queue
The KYC page opens on a queue sorted severity-first — submissions that need a human decision come before everything else. Six clickable stat cards (Total, Needs Review, Pending, Approved, Rejected, Action Required) double as filters, alongside status, document type, reviewer, and free-text search.
Statuses
| Status | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Requires Review | A human must decide now. |
| Pending | Waiting on the verifier — with SumSub, no verdict yet. |
| Under Review | Someone is actively looking at it. |
| Action Required | The trader must act (upload a document, retake a photo). |
| Verified | Approved — the trader can deposit and trade. |
| Rejected | Denied — the trader cannot transact. |
Reviewing a submission
The review page shows the trader’s profile information, all submitted documents (downloadable, with refreshing links), review notes, submission details, and a full history timeline.
- Manual submissions: “Approve Submission”, or reject with a required reason.
- SumSub submissions: a card shows SumSub’s current decision with an “Open in SumSub” link. The “Override decision” control is a break-glass action — it records an auditable manual decision without changing SumSub’s own record, and Callisto’s status then governs whether the trader can transact. Use it only when the decision cannot be corrected in SumSub itself.
- “Request Resubmission” sets the submission to Action Required — you select the applicable reasons (plus an optional note) and the trader is notified. The same submission stays alive.
A few rules worth knowing:
- Reject is final for that submission — the trader may start a new KYC attempt later, but a rejected submission never reopens. If you want the trader to fix something, use Request Resubmission instead.
- Submitted documents are read-only to staff. You can never edit a trader’s documents — only ask them to resubmit.
- There is deliberately no mass-approve or mass-reject — one submission at a time.
What KYC gates
A Verified status unblocks deposits, withdrawals, and live account creation wherever your rule sets require KYC (see Configure → Rule Sets). Rejected or Action Required blocks those actions. Enforcement happens at the moment the trader tries to act — not retroactively.
KYC configuration itself — choosing Manual vs SumSub, credentials, and which actions require KYC — lives in Configure, not on the KYC queue.
